How does CBD oil help menopause symptoms?

Menopause is, unfortunately, an unavoidable experience. After suffering through years of perimenopause, things don’t get much better with menopause. But, the good news is that you don’t need to suffer unnecessarily. There are natural things you can do to alleviate the symptoms and continue your usual daily routine.

CBD oil is one natural substance people are using to combat menopause symptoms. This post will look at all the ways it may help, discuss dosage and where you can purchase some CBD and olive oil (hint, it’s with us!)

What is menopause?

Menopause comes straight after perimenopause and occurs when oestrogen levels drop, periods stop and pregnancy is no longer an option naturally. Women usually go through menopause when they are between 45 and 55.

Menopause symptoms

Menopause carries with it many of the same symptoms as perimenopause. When going through menopause, you may experience:

  • Changes in skin conditions.
  • Difficulty sleeping.
  • Headaches or migraines.
  • Joint stiffness and pain.
  • Hot flushes.
  • Low mood or anxiety.
  • Memory and concentration problems.
  • Night sweats.
  • Reduced libido.
  • Vaginal dryness.

Not every person going through menopause will have all of these symptoms, and some may have milder experiences than others.

Is CBD oil helpful for menopause?

While CBD oil cannot combat every single symptom of menopause, it may ease some symptoms, including:

Difficulty sleeping

Disrupted sleep is something we all experience at some point, but during menopause, it may become much more frequent. Poor sleep is a considerable problem in itself, but its impact on your concentration, mood, and general wellness can make it insufferable.

CBD oil may help your body to relax and drift to sleep more quickly, improve your sleep quality, and reduce the number of sleep disturbances. As a result, you may find that you wake up feeling more refreshed than you have in a long time.

Joint pain

Menopause causes oestrogen levels to fall, which can result in inflammation in our knees, hands, elbows, shoulders and neck. You may even find that old injuries start to bother you again.

CBD may reduce inflammation, relieving some of the symptoms you may be experiencing in relation to menopause.

CBD may ease feelings of anxiety in general, so if you’re struggling with increased anxiety brought on by menopause, this is a natural way of managing it. The same is true of depression and mood swings, both of which you may also face while battling through menopause.

How much CBD oil should I take to combat menopause?

You can check out this page for more in-depth advice on CBD dosing, but you should generally aim for between 20-50mg (or 1-2 drops) per serving.

If you’ve never tried our CBD and olive oil before, you’re in for a treat as there are multiple benefits in addition to the ones mentioned above. We recommend our ‘starter CBD oil as a way of easing you in.’

If you’re a seasoned user of CBD oil, you could check out our Hot Shot or So Extra oils.

So, are you ready to kiss those horrid menopausal symptoms goodbye?
